What is the MMO Indicator?

The MMO Indicator is a tool to track and measure the narrative about middle management in public discourse.

By systematically reviewing articles, blogs, and publications, I aim to capture whether the conversation is leaning toward:

• Eliminating middle management, moving toward self-managed, decentralized systems, or

• Redefining and strengthening middle management as a vital part of modern organizations.

The MMO operates on a 0 to 10 scale, representing the spectrum from fully decentralized organizations to those with robust middle management structures.
